Frank Elms

Frank Elms lived with his father and mother, William and Amelia Elms in North Street, Melbourne. He came from a family of 8 and was living with 4 sisters and 2 younger brothersAll his family worked in the Shoe Industry. Frank was a Shoe Riveter as was his father, his mother and sisters were all Shoe Machinists.

Frank played a hugely active part of Melbourne Church, being an Altar Boy, Choir singer, Bell Ringer and Sunday School Teacher

By 1914 Frank was so ill that he could not carry out these duties.

He was so respected that the Sunday School Parade in 1914, including the Melbourne Town Band, deviated from their processional route in order to be able to play a hymn that he might hear, from his bedside. That was on Monday 1st of June, Frank died on Friday the 5th, aged 20.
